My Jumping Ability When I Was In High School
When I was in high school, I was about forty pounds overweight, had very little leg strength, and was slow on the court. Still, I was a decent basketball player, being the starting small forward for my high school team. I had a reality check going into college, though. Because of how out of shape I was, my vertical was pathetic. I measured 28 inches at the freshman combine. I was told bluntly: to make the team, I would have to Increase Vertical Jump. Luckily, I got special attention from my college’s strength coach. He outlined how I would increase my vertical in three steps. There are increase strength, perform sprinting and jumping drills more often and lastly drop fat.
