Plants At Wholesale Rates, Without a Wholesale Plant License
Someone asked “can I buy plants at wholesale rates, even if I’m just a local gardener doing a project at my home?” Even in bulk, no consumers are entitled to wholesale plant prices. Interestingly, I looked into wholesale plants at a local grower (who sells plants via wholesale). They said “honestly, we can never give you, a consumer, wholesale prices, but we can offer you some major discounts based on quantity.” I said I’m re-doing my yard, plus my mother-in-law’s (which happens to be a big estate. And when I say big, I’m talking huge- like what you see in movies), and we need X number of shrubs. They gave me an excellent rate because I was buying so many plants at once. I saved a lot of money and I believe the rate was fair for the plant grower as well.
