Teenage Drivers Need Auto Insurance

My mom was never the best driver, so dad usually chauffeured us kids around. When I started to take drivers’ education, I couldn’t take my eyes off of his keys hanging near the front door on a metal hook. I was raised in a nice New York neighborhood that just so happened to be near a poorly lit intersection. When my dad allowed me to drive for the first time, I almost gave him a heart attack. I stopped on the brakes really hard, because I missed seeing a stop sign. He made me get out; he turned the car around and had me promise to never drive without auto insurance in New York, or elsewhere for that matter.
